11:14 pm - blah
So it's been awhile since last I updated here, I don't even know who checks this one anymore.

It's been several months since I talked to Karen and ages since I talked to anyone else, I did manage to send Liz an email, and I've finally just got internet at my apartment, so I should be able to reply to it soonishly. After I go through the hassle that is cleaning out an inbox I haven't checked in a month. Goodness.

So, here is the news.
I am moved out. I live in an apartment with BoB and her friend Peggy. I pay fairly cheap type rent. I live in Muncie and am going to school at Ivy Tech still with intent to transfer soon either to Saint Mary of The Woods or Ball State.

I am attempting to obtain a degree in Eary Childhood Education, with an emphasis on children with special needs. I get to take a class called "The Exceptional Child" next semester and am excited about it.

At Burger King I was made a manager and worked half to death, two or three times. Last semester I somehow managed to work 45+hrs per week, go to three classes, including all of the driving time, and get all A's and B's, go me. Woo-hoo.

In Muncie, I work at Burger King still, alas. But have applied at several daycares and nursery schools in the hopes of securing employment in my field of study. I am not, however, a manager. And working 40- hours a week has seemed a blissful vacation.

As the starter of the "where are you now?" update, I hope some of you will also update.

3:05 pm - Gargh
Think may die soon... too much busy. My boss hath scheduled me for 45 hours this week. My goddess. Six days in a row of work, and I'm going to kill someone. Likely one of the other people I work with...

Plus, I just paid tuition, and my mom springs this extra bill on me. And I owed them two hundred dollars and now I have no monies.. and I need gas for this week... I haven't any. And I haven't eaten all day, and I'm soooo hungry. Maybe my grandma will feed me? I'm near her house.

Yes, yes, I work at a restraunt, (why can't I ever spell that word? I can spell antidisestablishmentarianism, but not restraunt. Oh no.) Anwyas, and should be able to get free food, but not if my big manager is there. Grr.

Hmmm.

Well, hopefully I make it to work, home, school, work and home without killing another human being. Really.

I spose thats an update.
Ja.

12:05 am - I live
Jen is alive. And may have whole week in August off. *Crosses fingers*

Also am obsessed with Pirates of the Caribbean. Is sad. /Love/ Jack Sparrow. Have already written fanfiction.

Because, you know, I'd rather start a brand new multichaptered story than finish any of the thousands I have posted, or even the ones I refuse to post and haven't shown anyone. Hmmmm. Dammit.

Oh well. If you want Jack Sparrow/OC slash, go here. http://adultfan.nexcess.net/aff/story.php?no=7587

Otherwise, hope to be online and chat with people soon enough, as opposed to just posting. But, have been posting. Woohoo for me. Need study for bio test and go sleepy now. Yardwork in morning, reg work in afternoon. Lucky, lucky me, huh? Blah.

Ja.

current mood: Gurkle.

8:44 pm - Oh so PretTY!
This interviewing bit is tooo fun. :-P Y'all know the drill.

1. If you could live in one book what would it be and why?
Hmmmm. Live in a book? I would have to live in Mercedes Lackey's Magic's Pawn. I love her universe, so much. And I really like where it is there, plus I'd have Vanyel's terribly sad (still makes me cry) demise to look forward to seeing firsthand. I'd have to be a Bard though. I used to want to be a Herald, but I'm just not that good a person. Heh. Too selfish, and selfish people make okay Bards. Well. At least only slightly selfish people. And I /love/ her world. So much better than the one here. I mean, even when magic is supposedly disappeared, it's still quite magical. And yeah.

2. Who's your favorite original character? Why?
Of who's? Mine... Mine is probably Cleff, because, even though she was for a vampire game, she's so neat. She's such a smartass, and a bit of an idiot, but she is actually quite good at heart. Quite the protector. Heh. And a story about her and JC/? Ai!
Of someone elses? Eeek. Don't want to think about that... Know WAY TOO MANY.

3. What are some of your biggest pet peeve about other fan fic writers? Discuss at length.
1) FIRST AND FOREMOST, NOT PROOFREADING
I can't stand fics that look like this:

Leglas walked down the road, sighing to himself. It was a hot dey. And his cloths were stickin to him.

I mean. AUGH. I will leave the fic. I've seen worse, I just couldn't stand to demonstrate, you see.

2) Glaring cannon errors that aren't explained, kind of annoy me. Like suddenly Harry is living with his parents, and there isn't an "Oh, they didn't die bit" hanging around. I can stand minor ones. Especially if you think book vs movie universe. Okay.

3) Kind of goes with the first, but MISPELLING CHARACTER NAMES. I mean, how hard is it to look up the right spelling of Zelgadis? And in japanese, of course, there are several accepted versions, but come on, at least make it one of the accepted versions, okay?

4) Using langauges wrong. Such as Japanese, and Sindarin(elvish.) Or using Quenya instead of Sindarin, because if you are in the fandom, you know Quenya is BANNED. ILLEGAL. It is the language of the kinslayers... *stops*

5) Getting cultures wrong. Not having Japanese schoolgirls bow/remove shoes, etc. Or having elves kill other elves in Tolkein fics. Grrr.

6)Getting the author's name wrong! This pisses me off, as an author. If you don't know it, look it up, or don't use it!!!!!

7) Terrible characterizations without explanation. I mean, having Jarod from Pretender turn into a psycho is okay, so long as you explain it!!!!!

I think I'll stop there. A lot of things annoy me about fanfics. Heh. I'm soooo picky about the ones I read, it's sad!!!

4. Who's your favorite villain of all time? Why?
Gotta go with Hannibal Lector. I mean, such a master of psychological terror. It's tasty. Plus, I watched Red Dragon last night, and yeah. I love him. Though... Count Olaf from The Series of Misfortunate events is fairly well up there on my list...

5. Do you remember how we met?
Well. We had lit together, but I think we actually got to know each other over anime in James' Room. Ahhh. Marmalade Boy. Though, it might have been at the Java Join. 'Swhy I asked you. ;)

6. If you could be any writer in the world living or dead, who would it be and why? I would be J.K. Rowling. A)The Harry Potter books ROCK. B) She is richer than the Queen of England. C) She has a castle in Scotland. If I had a castle, you all could come. *emphatic nod*

7. Do you like tea? If so, what is your favorite kind?
*Nods* Green tea. Or possibly, apple cinnamon tea. That was quite good. 've only 'ad it once though.

8. Do you feel pretty? Oh so pretty? Do you feel pretty and witty and gay? Do you pity any girl who isn't you today?
I am a gorgeous woman. I am just so beautiful, *preens vainly* I am terribly witty, and feeling fairly on the gay side. Heh. I pity any girl who isn't WITH me. Hee. Play on words there. Heh.

Hee. Interview was great April, hannon le. (sindarin for thank you.) :-)

3:39 pm - Whee!
This interview deal is fun. ^_^ If you want interview-ed, just put in the comments, and then I will post questions to your comments and then you get interviewed, then get a chance to interview who comments for you...yeah. Youv'e all read Liz's DJ right?

1. Why did you pick your FYI class?
I picked my FYI class based on the fact that I have always been fascinated by war and its effects. My senior year of highschool I had a class on World War Two, and we read a book by John Keegan. Our book for the Face of Battle was also by that author. I mean, it was a sign was it not? I'm still intrigued by war, I mean I did my position paper this year on the war in Iraq, and it's causes from the point of view of an Arab. It was fascinating.

2. During the FYI class, what was your favorite movie? Dr. Strangelove. Easy, easy, easy question. I mean, what would Freshman Year have been without Dr. Strangelove????

3. What is your favorite vampire clan and why?
Ahh the Giovanni. A.)My first ghoul/larp experience was with the Giovanni. B.)Dear Cleff never would have been the same without them. C.)They are just so classy, and downright evil. I mean, it's like the vampire mafia. How much cooler do you get than that? Hmmm?

4. If you were stuck on a desert island, what 3 books would you take with you and why? THREE? I ONLY GET THREE? *whimpers* I'm reading three books or more at any given time.. can't I just have...a couple thousand more? No..^^;; Uhm...

I would have to have Number the Stars by Lowis Lowery, that being my favorite book.

I would need Kurt Vonnegut's Breakfast of Champions.

And I would take Gone With the Wind, because it's good and long and you can live in it for a bit. Yeah.

Can't I have just a few more? *meeple*

5. Same as 4, only what 3 movies and why?
Erhrm.... That's easier. Assuming I had electric, and a tv and a vcr, or dvd player. I would take The Truman Show, Exit to Eden, and But I'm a Cheerleader. Those would keep me entertained for quite a bit.

6. What is your favorite anime series and why?
Slayers. *ROFLMAO* Every time I watch. So much funny. Ahhh. Plus my first foray into non-eighties anime. I just adore Lina. She is my role model! Bwhahahahahahahaha!

7. If you could have only one type of candy in the world, what would it be?
Uhm, is chocolate a candy? If so, then definitely Reese's Cups. Could eat the blasted things for the rest of me life without errors.

Now just reply and ask to be interview-ed, and interview-ed ye will be. Heh.

12:50 pm - International Day of Slash
Okay, people who read this. I know the majority of you are fairly well versed in the wonders of slash.... *sighs*

So, this July 1st is the International Day of Slash... and we do need to celebrate, do we not? I mean, honestly, we do.

So, we all need to write some slash... come on slash.... slash is good.

Twinslash, from the matrix.
Twincest from LOTR, Elladan/Elrohir are so pretty.

Maybe you are more convential. There is always Zelgadis/Xellos slash from Slayers.

Draco/Harry...

One of my favorites, Luscious/Snape... use that noncon, babes, use it.

Harry/Ron... Aren't they cute?

Femmslash.... Arwen/Eowyn.... Hell, Eowyn/ANYONE... I love her.
Hermione/Ginny. Isn't that adorable?

Lina/Amelia... awww.

I know there are more ideas in ya'll sick and twisted minds.

Okay. Did my bit. I'm gonna write a slash, PWP just for International Slash Day. I encourage ya'll to do the same. It'll be fun. ^_^

If you need ideas, just ask me. I swear, I always have a plot bunny available, scary as the usually are. 3 days or so to write... we can do it.

Allrighty then. I feel like I am on speed, and it's odd. Probably because I slept a glorious twelve hours last night. Finally a night off, in which I got some sleep! Happy Dansu!

1:23 am - Update on Jen
*points to Liz that the book is not silly, but quite good, actually and that she should read it. Like everybody else on the planet*

*cough*

Okay... Jen
Let's just go with what Jen did last week.

Monday. Wake about 9 am, do yardwork, etc, for the mom. Do laundry for work. Go to biology, three hours worth. Go to work, get home... oh... 1 am...

Tuesday... Wake 7 am... go to school until noon, come home, take nap until three... (got home about 1 pm) go to work, get home... ohhh. 2 am. because our maintenance man only comes when he feels like it

Wednesday! Sleep.. in!! Foiled. Awaken by mother at 9 for more yardwork.. no school though.. but.. work... at 2 pm, to 10, get home at 10 Joy! *relax for an hour all to myself, anticipate hp*

Thursday... Wake 7... school until 1 pm, work at five... nap somewhere in there... home about 1 am

Friday.. ACTUALLY SLEEP IN
Work 5-2 am...

Saturday... Drag my ass out of bed at 7 for lab. >.< Barely. get home round 12.. book not here... keep rereading four... book still not here.... finally book here! read for an hour.. go to work...

Sunday: OFF OFF! DANSU! DANSU! READ ALL DAY LONG!

Anyways.... my schedule looks like that almost every week. I'm so tired... blah. I never sleep, I however, will have an associates degree in a year, I think. go me. In Early Childhood Educations, then I can transfer that to BSU and get a Bachelors in Primary Ed. Woohoo. Go me. ^_^ Finally. Figured out this what I want to do career. So, the bit wherein I work my ass off is worth it in the end. *nods*

*huggles to everyone*

All in all, HP5 is quite good. And ah... the writing...

Anywhoo. I'm going to bed now, mebbe I'll get to sleep in tomorrow. I missesesese everyone. Gah. Maybe this Sunday I'll try and be online part of the time. Or, I'll get drafted into doing more crap for my mom.

See, when I work it doesn't count. I'm working forty hours, plust taking halftime school, and it doesn't count, because I only have class four days a week. So if I work seven hours at night, well, of course I have time to work a bajillion hours at home beforehand. Why would I be so tired? Blahhh

*Kills something and feels better*

*Sigh*

*wants to go to chicago on Sunday, but is broke. and doesn't know iff'n anyone else could make it and meet me there or anything*

current mood: herm
current music: Chicago Soundtrack. Ahhhh.

3:46 pm - Order of the Phoenix
My turn to ramble. I must say, I disagree with other opinions that have been voiced. But, eh, that's what makes it fun. ^_^ Spoilers ahead, mateys. Though, I think most of you are done now?

1. Describe in five words or less how you feel about Order of the Phoenix. (your initial reaction)
Shiny. ^_^

2. What are your feelings on Harry's personality? Do you think he is overly cynical, depressed, etc. . . .?
Harry hit puberty! And honestly, it is about time. Harry is no longer a small child, but more of a sullen teenager, and that would of course be the natural development of things, would it not? Plus, this kid has lived through some serious tragedy, even with just Cedric, and then no one believing him. The adults not telling him anything. I mean, when adults withhold things, its annoying even whent its harmless stuff. How much more frustrating would be were it life and death? Hmm?

3. Do you think Order of the Phoenix is appropriate for children 13 and younger? Why or why not?
No. But I didn't think that about Sorcerer's Stone on up. But then, I have a thouroughly graphic imagination. I didn't think Mulan was appropriate for children under 13...

4. List your five most hated characters (either in Book 5 or the whole series, non-humans can be included).

1. Crabbe and Goyle. So thouroughly annoyingly pointless. Besides, I want to be a minion and they give minions a bad name.
2. Umbridge. But, I love to hate her, so do I really hate her?
3. Dobby. No. I just... I mean, its Jar-Jar part 2... *sigh*
4. Wormtail. Can not. Stand. Him.
5. Uncle Vernon, as he stands for everything mundane which I am terribly against.

5. Percy turned away from his family. Will he come crawling back to them now or . . .?
I imagine we find out he was under the Imperius Curse or some such... I mean Percy was always a prat... but... I rather didn't think he was that bad...

6. What did you think of the new DADA's punishment? Why didn't Harry nor Lee complain?
Can't help it. I adored that punishment. I mean, tis effective... well. At least it makes an impression.

7. What do you think of James and Lily now?
James, heh, always figured he couldn't have been perfect, but as Sirius said, they were just fifteen. Lily, a bit of a goody two shoes, but probably the reason James eventually grows up.

8. Has your opinion (which is probably not too good) of Petunia Dursley changed? If yes, how so?
Nope.

9. What's the meaning of Snape's nickname in your opinion?
I imagine it's nothing more than a demeaning name children give to other children. Yknow, like calling Harry "Potty."

10. What do you think of the character death? Do you think s/he will return?
This is where I disagree with...oh...everyone on the planet. I think it was the most appropriate death in order to torture Harry the most. If I were an evil dark lord, that's who I'd make sure died. I mean, seriously, it hits the kid right in the...yknow. I can't say much more without giving it all away.

11. Do you think fanfiction will be hurt by Book 5? Do you see any new pairings arising? Do you see any huge ships falling apart?
Okay the character death, will srpout a bajillion "what if >>>> didn't die?" fics, and those will be fun. Or have them coming back, etc, etc. Can't help it, I see Luna/Hermione slash in my future. Why? I know not. I just like it.

12. What was your favourite chapter in Order of the Phoenix? Why?
The last one. Best line in the entire book.
Snape: What are you doing Potter?
Harry: Trying to decide what curse to use on Malfoy, sir. *squee*

13. Talk about Fred and George's "flight."
Beautiful. *squee* Peeves. Saluted. Them. I mean. How much cooler can you get?

14. Give some thoughts on Ron.
Ron's so clueless and cute. He's starting to grow up though. He really is a good friend to Harry, extremely loyal. I'm glad he proved himself in Quidditch and got to be a prefect.<----- What April said is too perfect.

15. What did you think of Dumbledore's explanation?
Approxiamately what I expected. Dumbledore IS Gandalf. And would Gandalf explain himself thouroughly? Of course not.

16. Do you feel satisfied by this book?
*dances teetering* I don't know... I'm fairly fond of 3.. and 4... and 5 now... lemme read six and seven first.. yeah...

17. How anxious are you now for Book 6?
Duh. I don't want to wait another four years if that's whatcha mean. ^_~

current mood: geeky
current music: clackity clack

3:11 pm - Wowzzzer.
Well folks, friends and those weirdos who ocassionally read this. (We all wonder why, btw.) We have made it through another year. For some reason my year begins and ends in spring. 'Tis school to some degree, and 'tis past events to another. And just 'tis kind of fun. The year is more like half-years. Or semesters. That's right. Sometimes they call them semesters.

Let's do a quick recap. Starting with last year.

May 2002- I loaded up my truck and fled, literally FLED Beloit. I was down, depressed failing classes and attempting (and partly succeeding) to alienate my friends. Don't believe me? Check out some of my entries from last May. You will. By the way, I am sorry for some of the things I said. They weren't nice. They were crafted deliberately to harm. *Apologizes* Especially to Liz, April, Erin and Katie. You know why.

June 2002- I got a job at a nursing home. Quit after three days. A job at a temp agency. I was ignoring the interenet mainly. A few trickles of my self hit it now and then. Not much.

July 2002- I started at the Doom Center. (Fuel Center). Worked ass off. A lot. 45+ hours a week

August 2002- Everyone quit at the fuel center. I worked 50+ hours a week. I tried to sign up for classes, failed. I tried a lot of things, failed. Nervous breakdown.

September 2002- More nervous breakdownage. Quick visit to the menatl hospital. Moved inside the store. Cashiering a bit easier than assitant manager shit.

Ocotber 2002- Well. I was going to have surgery. But I can't afford it. Because of union-im-not-giving-you-health-insurance-assholes.

November 2002- Actually sign up for classes. Go me! Start trickling very slowly onto being online again.

December 2002- sign up to play trans game with everyone. am getting online again! Make friends with Martha... she's cool. See everyone in Chicago! Great fun. Who has those pictures?

January 2003- ACTUALLY START AND PAY FOR SCHOOL

Feb. 2003- disappear a bit, but mantain vague contact

March 2003- Am doing fairly well in school.

April 2003- Agree to join in forum rpg. Am full-fledged member of online-ness.

May 2003- I PASSED ALL OF MY CLASSES. 3 A's and a B. *beams* Thank you Karen. You know why.

To all of you: Thanks for being good friends. Heh. *Group Hug* We made it through a year. And I hope I get to be in that Rp weekend this august!!!!!!

7:45 am - Speech! Help! GAh!!!!
Okay, all. I have speech class at 12:30 today. I get out of psych at 11. I /need/ feedback on this puppy before then. I need some way to make it a little longer... Please.. OH helpy helpy helpy!!!!!

Also, I need "Source Credibility". "Since research indicates this is the single-most important aspect of a persuasive speech, other than your research, indicate anything in your life experience that adds to your credibility on this topic." And I'm so not sure if I want to actually tell everyone I'm bisexual. Heh. First time in my life I've been afraid of coming out. Bizarre.

Anyways, here it be:
Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness
General Purpose: To persuade
Specific Purpose: To persuade my audience that homosexual marriages should be legal.
Behavioral Purpose: To persuade my audience to learn more about the issue and help others to do the same.

I. Attention
A. How would you feel?
1.Hospital Story
2. Death Story
There are many Americans today who face these very problems.
II. Need
A. Marriage provides many opportunities for the partner?s involved.
1.Spouses are able to file jointly for their taxes.
2.Spouses can more easily adopt.
3.Spouses can visit one another in the hospital, are considered family.
4.Spouses can considered to be co-owners of property, even legally after death.
5.Spouses can share healthcare plans.
B. Homosexuals who are life-partners have none of these rights, with the exception of Vermont.
1.?The most comprehensive system for the legal protection of same-sex couples is the civil union system that exists in Vermont. This system extends all of the state benefits of marriage to same-sex couples, but is not termed a 'marriage,' and therefore is not recognized as a marriage for the purposes of federal law or under the laws of any other state.? ? Texas Human Rights Foundation

III. Satisfaction
A. Homosexuals should be allowed to marry on the basis of Equal Rights.
1.Interracial marriages were illegal less than 100 years ago.
a.Homosexual marriages should not be illegal today.
b.?Tradition can't justify discrimination. Not long ago, marriage was traditionally limited to members of the same race and religion, and married women were virtually the legal property of their husbands.? ?NOW
B. Civil marriages create the same opportunities for gays and lesbians without being religious marriages.
1.These civil marriages need to be recognized in other states.
a.This ?full faith and credit? is guaranteed under the constitution.
b.It says that each state must recognize the laws of another state. (This is why you don?t have to have front license plates when you drive through Illinois.)
IV. Visualization
A. The majority of the class found homosexuality to be immoral. Yet, when I talked in class everyone was talking about their gay friends.
1. Imagine then, that someone you are friends with cannot visit their loved one in the hospital because they are not legally defined as a spouse.
2. You may not believe in their life style, but that does not mean they don?t have the right to pursue happiness in their own way.
Equal rights are what this country is based upon, as Americans we have an obligation to create an environment that is equal for everyone.

V. Action
A. The only way to facilitate these rights is to take action.
1. Learn more about the issue.
a. Read, listen, and discuss with others.
2. Write your representative; write a letter to the editor.
3. Share information with those that do not have it.

1:15 pm - Left out...
A relevant subject for a change. See, we have labtime in class today and everybody is typing up their papers. And I got mine done. ^^;; Silly, silly, silly me. Hee hee. Whilst I /should/ be working on my speech, I've got other things on my mind.

Now, I know you all think I'm a dork for reading Animorphs. Hell, *I* think I'm a dork for reading said children's books. However, it really strikes me as odd how easily the Andalites can be compared to the Americans.

The Andalites are the alien race that are the "Good Guys" of the universe. They are the ones who end up giving the kids in the series the ability to morph, the technological advancement. Supposedly these aliens will be coming to fight the battle against the Yeerks, the supposed "Bad Guys" on earth.

Well. Guess who never really shows? Yep. The Americans. I mean the Andalites. In one of the books, I'm terrible I can't remember which one, the Yeerks even refer to the Andalites as the "Great meddlers of the universe". The Andalites have stretched themselves too thin and are fighting the battle on too many fronts.

Heee. I should do my speech on why the Andalites are like the Americans. While 'twould be fun... probably is as bad an idea as the speech on how Tolkein is a predictor of the inevitable downfall of society. But eh. What can ya do? You can print out the finished version of your paper, and quit ranting about space aliens....

This may be the longest post I've posted in a while... Oooh! I'm gonna print my paper and take a few quizzes. Maybe, I think I will stop taking quizzes very soon, and read my book and play Literati until my group is ready for our group stuff. I say this mostly because quizilla is going so very slow..... So slow...

Hmmmm. Liz, if you happen to be on, and wanna play Literati with me, switch to Yahoo, yah? Melodicrose. (Literati is scrabble. Tasty.)

"Uh...Hi, Mr. Boss, See. I have this big project for school due tomorrow, so I can't make it tonight..." Right. >.< Dammit.

I rahter love acing tests. Feels so nifty it does. Heh heh heh. That and i don't work tonight. AND I don't have my second class. Of course...I do have my critical analysis due Sunday and I /still/ don't have an article for it... Gack.

Plus, I need a topic for my speech...what to do what to do.

Lessseee...
I could talk about Union issues. Hmm.
Why we need a working wage.
Why we shouldn't have National Healthcare (if the government runs it anyways...)
Why the Middle East thinks that the war in Iraq is an American/Zionist conspiracy to turn the Middle East into Greater Israel.
Why suicide victims shouldn't be treated like criminals.

But. I don't really like any of those very much. Hemmmm. Any ideers? Why Disney should be sued for all they are worth by the makers of Kimba the White Lion. *cough*

Hmmmm. I dunnno. Grrr.

On the bright side, I new the answer to the bonus question! It was "Who sculpted the thinker?" Ten points, to whoever gets the answer first. ;-> Not sure what ten points are good for mind you. ^_^;;

*Dances* Your choices are da Vinci, Rodin, Monet, and David.

:p I'm in the strangest mood. I'm trying to decide whether or not to go see Chicago. Hmmmm. 'Tis an idea. Starts at 1:55...would give me time to read most of my next psychology. Which I think is Chapter 16 or some such. I think. Syllabus good. Tells you these sorts of things, yah?

Hmmm. I think I'm gonna turn on aim, find some good articles and play a quick game of literati.... Mmmmm. Literati so tasty...is scrabble. On the puter. Or perhaps euchre for which I haven't played in ages. Hmmmm.

Right. Well. I will go! Away!
